PIET VAN DEN BOOG PORTRAIT AT THE DUTCH MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, CULTURE & SCIENCE MADE PUBLIC

It is a tradition of cabinet and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) to make a “farewell portrait” of minister and secretary of state.

All the portraits from the last 90 years, from 1918 to present, are permanently exhibited in the hall of the Ministry and are accessible to the public from the Orange Buitensingel. Minister/secretary of state is free to choose artist himself/herself.

Piet van den Boog had a great pleasure and honoure to make a portrait of Mr. Ronald Plaster, prominent Dutch politician and a former minister of Education, Culture and Science (2007-2010).

The four portraits were made public on 24th January in the Ministry in Den Haag and will be shortly placed in the hall on the Orange Buitensingel.

The other artists were Erwin Olaf, who made portraits of Marja van Bijsterveldt-Vliegenthart and Sharon Dijksma, and Roderik van Schaardenburg, portrait of André Rouvoet.
